PIP Canada Ltd. (“PIP Canada”) is committed to ensuring the highest level of safety and reliability for workers using our protective equipment. As part of this commitment, we are proactively addressing a potential issue identified in certain production batches of Stromboli Type 2 Hard Hats (HP842R).
During our internal quality control review, we discovered that a molding parameter adjustment in certain batches of Stromboli Type 2 Hard Hats (HP842R) may lead to cracking or delamination of the front brim when subjected to tension. While this issue does not compromise the structural integrity of the dome, continued use of affected units may pose a risk in demanding work environments.
Our testing, conducted in accordance with CSA Z94.1-15 standards, confirms that these hard hats continue to meet or exceed impact and penetration safety requirements under hot (+50°C), ambient (23°C), and cold (-30°C) conditions. However, to maintain customer confidence and uphold our safety-first commitment, we are offering free replacements for affected units, regardless of whether they exhibit visible signs of cracking or delamination.
