IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE: Dyna-One Energy Absorbers

Oct 28, 2021 • PRESS RELEASES

PLEASE READ. Failure to do so may result in serious injury.

LAVAL, QC – October 27, 2021 – PIP Canada Ltd. (“PIP Canada”) is a leader in personal protective equipment, placing the utmost importance on ensuring the safety of the workers who use our products. As such, we are bringing to your attention the discovery of a potential performance issue with our Dyna-One Energy Absorber. Under recent testing conditions performed in conjunction with CSA, the tear web that controls the arresting forces showed, in a small percentage of Dyna-One Energy Absorber products, higher than expected maximum arresting forces when used in a very specific extraordinary wet and frozen conditioning environment.

The CSA wet/frozen conditioning test, part of CSA, requires that products be submerged in water for 8 hours and then frozen at -35°C for 8 hours before a dynamic performance test is performed. While there have been no reported incidents due to the nonconformity of our Dyna-One Energy Absorber, if these extraordinary working conditions could apply to you, please remove the product out of service immediately. Continued use of the product in these wet/frozen conditions could result in serious injury. Please note that the product remains entirely suitable and safe for use in all the other CSA specified conditioning of ambient wet, hot dry (+35°C) and cold dry (-35°C) conditions.
